I was browsing for Raggedy Ann and Andy stuff to give a friend who is having a baby girl in June and wants to decorate the nursery in Raggedy Ann and Andy and that's how I found your site. It's very cute. I have two boys and each of them have one Raggedy Andy doll. I have been sewing a quilt for my friends new baby-Raggedy Ann and Andy of course. I remember having paper dolls of them when I was a little girl and I loved going to our family doctor because he had HUGE (well at least they seemed huge when I was little) Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls in his kids' examination room. | Wrote... at three years of age, a dear family friend gave to my twin sister and me coordinating raggedy ann dolls. our names are stitched on her back, and the embroidered heart reads "i love you" - my daughter, now three, is carrying my twenty-seven year old doll around like a treasure. tomorrow is halloween, and we are not into the scary aspects of the day, so i was thrilled when meredith chose the most adorable costume for our harvest walk... a raggedy ann. |

| Wrote... Born near Arcola - my Mother made my Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls in about 1937. They are the only toys I retain from my childhood. They are worn and loved, but still have their clothes, and their wimsical smiles. Now giving my grand daughters the pair for them to love! Mine even have candy hearts with which to love. Hope to visit the Arcola festival in 2002. Think it is the third weekend in May. Thanks for your collection. Barb |
