Dear (participant's name),

Thank you for your participation in my art project. Enclosed, you will find a printout of your picture taken October 28, 1995 with Barbie on Lombard Street.

I am currently a BFA student at the San Francisco Art Instutute. I am an interdisciplinary major, with a focus on combining computers with the traditional tools of Fine Arts. The project which you have assisted with is one part of an assignment for my Interdisciplinary Sculpture class. The project was Site Specific, and I chose Lombard Street as my working site. (Lombard Street is about 2 blocks from the school, and I pass it by daily)

The first part of this assignment was to be an "intimate piece of work" related to the site. I choose to interact with the people visiting Lombard Street as a way of becoming intimate with the site. Within an hour, I spoke to about 25 people, and took 12 photographs with a polaroid instant camera. Each person who was photographed left me his/her address so that they could receive a copy of their picture as a final part of the project. The participants who were photographed were all visitors to San Francisco, and came from across the United States, as well as The United Kingdom.

Thank you again for being a part of my project. I had a wonderful time speaking with all of you. I hope that you will enjoy receiving this printout, and that it will serve as a momento from your visit to San Francisco.

Sincerely,

Trina Chow
(and Barbie)
